Feds tackle mobile security with government-wide standards

The Obama administration has released a new set of guidelines to create a minimum standard for securing data communications within and between federal agencies, which comes one year after the introduction of its Digital Government Strategy. The standards -- which were developed in part by the Pentagon and Department of Homeland Security and published by the White House Office of Management and Budget -- create a framework for the development of new mobile platforms and underscore the administration's embrace of mobile technology.
