Food trends are being shaped by interest in healthful food and global flavors, says Kara Nielsen, a trendologist at CCD Innovation. She says food and flavors with multiple applications, such as Greek yogurt, are more likely to move to the mainstream than items with narrower scope, such as coconut water.
