Opinion: SAG-AFTRA commercial pact is a win for both sides

The new SAG-AFTRA commercial agreement will be good for both sides, argues Talent Partners CEO Paul Muratore. The agreement, which still needs approval from union members, gives performers a 6% raise in pensionable wages and includes a tracking system for the digital world. It also makes clear that no payments are needed for those featured on the Web via "live events, contests, [and] man on the street and hidden camera" interviews, which will allow marketers to "put real people front and center as unscripted advocates for their brands," Muratore writes.
