Patient engagement spurs transparent, real-time research

23andMe founder Anne Wojcicki says she founded the nonprofit to harness people's inclinations to share information about themselves and help others. Customers are offered genotyping but not sequencing and are asked to participate in research surveys. The result is real-time research on more than 1 million phenotypic data points each week, Wojcicki says.
