U.K. startup seeks to put 3-D printing at initial design stage

The U.K. startup i2M is looking to take additive manufacturing to the next level, concentrating initially on working with blue-chip clients to redesign critical components to make them lighter and more cost effective. "Our aim is to get involved with the client at the earliest possible stage we can influence their thinking, from the initial design right through to the material selection, prototyping and volume production," said i2M co-founder Mike Kelly.
