FINRA quietly backtracks on investor-arbitration plan

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority withdrew its proposal for requiring increased disclosure from investors involved in arbitration after receiving comments opposing the plan. A SIFMA representative said the industry supports overhauling the process, but FINRA's proposal raised many questions. The group said parts of the proposal were "fundamentally unfair."
