Del. city council will amend sex-offender rule amid lawsuit

The Dover, Del., City Council plans to revise an ordinance that prohibits registered sex offenders from living near a day care center. The city is aiming for dismissal of a lawsuit involving a resident who must move under the ordinance. The rule, passed in 2012, prohibits certain sex offenders from living within 500 feet of a day care center and forces those already residing there to move within one year.
