"Disappearing Package" thesis could provide ideas for waste-free packaging

Aaron Mickelson, a packaging designer at the Pratt Institute, has created a thesis project he calls The Disappearing Package, which attempts to find methods for eliminating consumer product packaging waste. "Cleaning product manufacturers continue to pursue a path of sustainability when it comes to product packaging innovations," said Brian Sansoni, vice president of sustainable initiatives for ACI. "Concentrated products, for example, have led to significant reductions in the amount packaging being used per unit. Moving forward, companies are eager to work [with] packaging design innovators to continue their efforts to reduce a product's overall environmental footprint."
