FSOC could vote soon on nonbank SIFIs

The Financial Stability Oversight Council might vote Monday to designate certain major nonbank companies, such as American International Group and Prudential Financial, as systemically important financial institutions. FSOC Chairman and Treasury Secretary Jack Lew recently told senators that the council "expected to vote on proposed designations of an initial set of nonbank financial companies in the near term."
