Should the path to college readiness begin in middle school?

To better prepare high-school graduates for college, St. Johns River State College President Joe Pickens recently spoke to a group of educators about increasing rigor in middle-school math and how Common Core State Standards will impact all schools, including colleges. "For decades, we've acted as if they were 'your' students and not our students all the way through," Pickens said. "We need to start acting like 'us,' from middle school."
