Study: Ultrasound treatment shrinks uterine fibroids, relieves symptoms

The use of a noninvasive ultrasound procedure can help treat uterine fibroids and relieve their symptoms, according to a new study. Researchers found that women with uterine fibroids who received the optimized treatment, called magnetic resonance-guided focused ultrasound surgery, had greater symptom relief and improved quality of life, compared to those who received less treatment.
