Light-rail line may be $5M under budget for Charlotte, N.C.

The Charlotte Area Transit System predicts work on the North Carolina city's light-rail line could come in under budget. Officials now estimate the final bill could be up to $5 million less than the $462.7 million budgeted for the project. The Lynx Blue Line has proved popular with commuters, averaging 15,000 riders per day in April.
