Iowa biorefinery to ramp up algae output within months, execs say

BioProcess Algae's Grower Harvester bioreactors in the Green Plains Renewable Energy ethanol plant in Shenandoah, Iowa, are expected to begin commercial-scale production within months, officials said. The bioreactors will utilize the waste streams and carbon dioxide from the ethanol plant to produce algae, said Tim Burns, CEO of BioProcess Algae.
