Losing weight boosts vitamin D in postmenopausal women

Overweight or obese postmenopausal women who lost more than 15% of their body weight saw big increases in their vitamin D levels, according to a study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Researchers from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center said the data did not show how much vitamin D is available to the body during and after weight loss and that more study is needed on vitamin D deficiency and its effect on health issues.
