Noble Energy discovers hydrocarbons at Gulf well

Noble Energy said its Santiago exploration well in the Gulf of Mexico encountered 60 feet of oil pay in a high-quality reservoir, the first discovery since the 2010 oil spill. The company holds a 23.25% stake in the well, which is included in the bigger Galapagos project. Noble resumed its operations in the Santiago well after it secured the first post-Gulf spill deepwater permit.
