Q&A: Recognizing the potential for digital tools in education

Cultural anthropologist and author Mimi Ito is studying the ways in which today's students are using and learning from new media. In this interview, Ito suggests educators and parents recognize how much they use digital tools for learning in their own lives to realize the potential uses for students. She also advocates partnerships between schools and places such as libraries and museums that bring together formal and informal learning networks and where adults can act as mentors for media use among students.
