Wyo. wind-farm developer installs radar system to track birds

Power Co. of Wyoming, which is planning to develop a 2,500-megawatt wind farm in Rawlins, Wyo., has installed a radar system to track flight patterns of golden eagles and other species. "Previous radar studies have not been specifically designed to detect and understand eagle use patterns, so this is one of the first applications of the technology," said Garry Miller, director of land and environmental affairs for PCW.
