Federal push to boost U.S. agency security a boon for tech industry

A congressional mandate that U.S. civilian and military government agencies bolster their computer networks will generate as much as $6 billion in new revenues for the security industry. The Federal Information Security Management Act -- which requires agencies to transition to more real-time compliance monitoring of networks -- was passed in 2010 and has enticed dozens of companies to vie for a piece of the action.
