Study: Statins prescribed only to half of patients who need them

Statins are not being prescribed as much as they should be, according to a new study that suggested only about half of high-risk patients who should be prescribed the drugs actually receive them. The researchers made the case that physicians should pay more attention to patients at moderate to high risk of heart disease and consider prescribing statins.
