Obama administration to create task force for FDA transparency

The Obama administration plans to create a task force to focus on improving transparency of product-approval decisions by the FDA. The task force, to be led by FDA Deputy Commissioner Joshua Sharfstein, will solicit opinions from independent parties, including those who strongly support protecting trade secrets, and submit a report in six months to FDA chief Margaret Hamburg.
