Thai Red Cross changes blood donor screening rules

In an effort to ensure a safe blood supply in light of increasing cases of sexually transmitted diseases and other infectious conditions such as the new H1N1 flu strain, the Thai Red Cross Society will start requiring both sexes to answer questions pertaining to risky behavior. The new rule, which also will require screening for the new flu strain and mad cow disease, is expected to be implemented within the year.
