Officials investigate the disappearance of animals in Los Angeles

Police and other officials in Los Angeles are investigating the disappearance of 64 animals from city shelters since last year, the majority of which were dogs. According to Brenda Barnette, general manager of the Animal Services Department, some of the animals may have been mistakenly identified as missing, but she said others had "wrongly disappeared."
