NMB orders more talks between UPS, Teamsters

The National Mediation Board has ordered continued talks between UPS and its mechanics, rebuffing a request by the Teamsters to declare that negotiations have reached an impasse. A Teamsters official called the decision "disheartening," though he said the union would return to negotiations when the NMB is ready. UPS, meanwhile, said it was "pleased" at the chance for further talks. "Working through the NMB's well-established process, we have every reason to believe we can reach a 'win-win' agreement," the company said.
