Maryland attorney general pushing marriage equality on campaign trail

Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler, who is straight, is embracing marriage equality for gays and lesbians as a central issue in his campaign for re-election in Maryland. Politicos around the state warned Gansler about getting too far out in front of public opinion, but Gansler rejected the advice. "To me it just seems so wrong that we deny human beings the pursuit of happiness," he said.
