FCC gives stations leeway to air mobile-alert PSAs

The Federal Communications Commission, to encourage radio and TV outlets to run a PSA about mobile emergency alerts that contains a two-tone audio signal, has granted stations a one-year waiver to run the spots during non-emergency times. However, the ads must be aired in a "non-misleading manner," so that no one will think they are real emergency alerts.
