Legislation mix-up could end prescription drug tax exemption

Mistakes in writing legislation for an income tax cut in Missouri could lead to the repeal of the sales tax exemption on prescription drugs, possibly increasing the chances that Gov. Jay Nixon, a Democrat, will veto the entire bill. Republicans said Nixon could sign the bill and let legislators remove the error before the law takes effect, but Nixon said last week that the issue was of immediate concern.
