Researchers ID chemicals that help liver tissue function in lab

Researchers at Massachusetts Institute of Technology identified 12 chemical compounds that allowed liver cells to retain normal function and multiply in the laboratory. Further preclinical tests are needed, but researchers hope the development can be used to help develop a method for growing liver tissue for transplantation.
