Whole Foods plans lower-cost stores in urban areas

Whole Foods is planning stores in Detroit, New Orleans and Chicago with lower prices, more private-label products and fewer staff members. Co-CEO John Mackey said lower costs will help the stores "reach more people," adding that "the premise that the healthy food we sell at our stores is expensive or elitist is false."
