Work with house color when selecting plants for the garden

The color of a house and its trimmings can be used to determine the color of plants that would look best in the garden, writes Dawn Pettinelli. Beige houses would do well with vibrant plants, while blue homes would work best with plants that come in pink or purple hues. Hanging baskets and window boxes can brighten tight spaces, while planting in drifts increases visual interest, Pettinelli notes.
