Building owner not liable for Legionella-related death, N.J. court rules

A New Jersey appeals court has ruled that the owner of an office building isn't liable for the death of a man who contracted Legionnaires' disease while working there. Mack-Cali tested the building's water and had its plumbing system cleaned after learning about the man's illness, according to the ruling. "There are no industry standards that required Mack-Cali to have done anything more than what it did in response to the salient facts of this case," the court said.
