Google launches Mobile Backend Starter to entice developers

Google said it is providing a Mobile Backend Starter to make it easier for developers to utilize the App Engine cloud service. The company released a Content Experiments application programming interface to allow developers to A/B test site content for optimization. "The new API is deeply integrated with Google Analytics, so developers can use all of Analytics' power to measure their different optimizations," Frederic Lardinois writes. In addition, a Google e-mail leaked by a developer suggests the Google App Engine Search API is moving into preview mode, and Google will charge for storage and operations such as "call to delete" and simple and complex queries.
