Initiative aims to regenerate tissue in burn victims

An interdisciplinary team at the University of Brighton in the U.K. will attempt to develop new wound healing and scar reduction processes based on regenerative medicine. "The idea would be to try and create an environment in and around the wound for the regenerative mechanisms to be encouraged to occur, hopefully reducing scarring in the process," said Anthony Metcalfe, a professor at the university and director of research at the Blond McIndoe Research Foundation.
