Md. hotel reaches settlement in second Legionnaires' disease lawsuit

A civil lawsuit against a Maryland hotel where Legionella bacteria were found has been resolved on undisclosed terms, according to the Worcester County, Md., Circuit Court. The case against the Plim Plaza Hotel was brought by 11 plaintiffs, including representatives of an elderly woman who died. Each plaintiff sought $1 million for breach of contract and negligence. An earlier $6 million federal suit brought against the hotel by a Virginia couple was settled in early May.
