Students in Hong Kong face pressure to excel academically and be involved in sports, music and other extra-curricular activities. Experts say Hong Kong's fiercely competitive education system, in which only 18% of students are admitted to local universities, is partially to blame for the pressure. Parenting values also play a role, with many hovering over their children to ensure they succeed.
