Smartphones: Android, Apple up; RIM, Microsoft down

Google's Android and Apple's iOS continued to show gains in April among U.S.-based smartphone operating systems, while Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 and Research In Motion's BlackBerry extended their slides from January, according to the latest comScore report. Android expanded its market share to 36.4%, up 5 percentage points. Among handset makers, Samsung remained on top with a 24.5% share, down slightly from January.
