BlackBerry hopes to reach a deal with rival smartphone makers that would preload its BlackBerry Messenger service onto their Android and iOS-based handsets by the summer, Chief Operating Officer Kristian Tear said, noting that BBM has retained an active global user base of 61 million people. He also said that U.S. carriers, which launched the Q10 this week, are embracing the phone.
