Immigration bill draws scrutiny but will move to Senate floor

A proposal to overhaul immigration has drawn increasing opposition from four Republican senators, who warn colleagues that the bill would fail to strengthen border security and would unfairly grant legal status to immigrants. These lawmakers said the Senate Judiciary Committee overlooked amendments that would have strengthened the measure. The bill is scheduled to head to the Senate floor next week, said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.
