Speak Out alert targets Medicare payment reform, physician training

The AAFP issued a Speak Out alert asking family physicians to contact lawmakers about bills to eliminate the sustainable growth rate formula and increase Medicare payments and to promote primary care residency programs in nonhospital settings. Doctors also are asked to seek legislative support for the National Health Service Corps and Title VII health professions training grant programs, which can help build a stronger primary care workforce.
