New Jersey aims to see increase in bone marrow donations

The New Jersey Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens committee today is scheduled to discuss Jaden's Law, which aims to increase bone marrow and peripheral blood stem cell donations in the state, especially among members of the minority community. The bill would mandate the Health and Senior Services Department to develop a Web-based brochure that features information from the National Marrow Donor Program and urge doctors to encourage patients to become donors. The bill was approved by the State Assembly last month.
