Prosecutor's investigation could put damper on research

A judge in Wisconsin has appointed a special prosecutor to investigate whether Madison scientists studying the effects of decompression broke the law during an experiment that resulted in the deaths of several sheep. The move marks a victory for animal-rights activists, but scientists nationwide are worried that criminal charges could prove chilling to valuable research.
