Report: LCD shipments were up 9% in the first quarter

A report from DisplaySearch found that more than 44.2 million LCD TVs were shipped globally in the first quarter of this year, a 9% increase over the comparable three months in 2010. While the report indicates that the LCD market is growing, DisplaySearch said it was the smallest year-over-year increase ever for the devices and the first time LCDs have been in the single-digit growth range.
