Arcandor's battle continues after Germany rejects aid

The German government has rejected Arcandor's credit-guarantee application and instructed the retailer to reapply with a better request for aid. The move has forced Arcandor to work to keep from being deemed insolvent. The retailer is planning to discuss its options with its creditors, owners and Karstadt department store landlords.
