Scientists find molecular mechanism behind blood clotting

U.S. researchers said they identified a molecular sensor that controls the size of the von Willebrand factor blood-clotting protein, which regulates the balance between hemorrhage and the clotting of blood. The study could pave the way for additional therapies for blood disorders, U.K. experts said.
