The federal economic-stimulus package will create or save 600,000 jobs this summer, President Barack Obama said Monday. Many projects funded by the package have already started, including 1,600 airport and road-improvement projects. In addition, federal agencies will release billions of dollars in stimulus funds that will pay for health centers, improvements for national parks, and water and waste projects, among other things. An analyst with RGE Monitor says significant job creation won't happen until later this year.
