Oregon's top veterinarian issues alert on vesicular stomatitis

Oregon's state veterinarian has advised in-state owners of horses, swine and cattle to watch out for any symptoms of a viral disease called vesicular stomatitis, particularly from recently imported animals. Veterinarians also are urged to report any foreign animal disease to the state's Department of Agriculture. The move comes after horses in Arizona were confirmed to be infected with the virus.
