Ethanol, pork industries debate DDGs ahead of USDA corn report

The federal government is expected to update its corn-planting data today, but expectations are not high, leading to debate between pork and ethanol producers over the high use of dried distillers grains. "In all previous years where corn planting was less than 90 percent complete by the end of May, final corn acreage came in short of March 31 planting intentions," according to Scotia Capital. "On May 29, corn planting was only 86 percent complete."
