Exec: Satellite will prosper in areas where fiber can't reach

Satellite services face an especially bright future in global areas where laying fiber-optic cable to provide high-speed broadband service is prohibitively expensive, says Dave McGlade, CEO of Intelsat, the satellite service provider. Demand for satellite bandwidth will increase even further within five years due to the advent of "ultrahigh definition" TV broadcasts, he added.
