Cracked pontoons to be towed, fixed for $4.1B Seattle bridge

Crews will move two of the four cracked concrete pontoons for Seattle's $4.1 billion Highway 520 floating bridge project off Lake Washington so repairs can be done in drydock. The other two pontoons will be repaired in coffer dams on site. Post-tensioning, injection of epoxy to fill cracks and carbon-fiber wrap are among the repair plans for the pontoons. Repairs for the four are expected to cost $100 million.
