White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett, for example, told women to consider career moves that could seem like a step backward and to realize that the women's movement wasn't about being perfect at everything. "That wasn't the lesson from the women before us," she said. "That's not what they were fighting for. They were really fighting for us to make our own choices."
