Indonesia to hike crude palm oil processing capacity by 39.46M tons

Indonesia plans to invest at least $2.7 billion in new facilities to process crude palm oil, with the goal of boosting capacity to 39.46 million short tons annually by 2014, said Sahat Sinaga of the Indonesian Vegetable Oil Refiners Association. Twenty foreign and local processors will contribute to the expansion, which will add capacity for refining and fractionation, oleochemical production and biodiesel manufacturing.
